Gardening
is a great leisure time activity. It will give you self-satisfaction and excitement.
Planting a flower garden in your surroundings will give it an attractive and
cheerful appearance. When planting a flower garden, it is important to follow
the flower gardening tips. Flower gardening is an easy task if all the tips are
correctly followed.
There
are many important things that you should consider before planting a flower
garden. You should plan all the flower garden activities to keep all things in
place. Initially the important consideration in planning your flower garden is selecting
an appropriate place for your garden. Whether you have 50 square feet area or 500
square feet area, you can plant a beautiful flower garden.
Selection of
Garden Area
When
planning your garden, the spot you choose for your flower garden should have
proper drainage and watering facilities. Many flower plants bloom well in full
sunlight while some of them grow well in shady areas. Hence, choose the place
that receives maximum sunlight throughout the daytime.
When
you have selected the place for your garden, you need to prepare this place
well for planting the flower plants or seeds. Inspect the garden area and remove
the weeds from the place. Choose the proper garden design for your garden. Make
sure that you keep sufficient place for walking and watering the plants in your
garden.
Selection of
Flower Plants
The
next important consideration while planting a flower garden is selecting the
flower plants for your garden. You can select the plants with different color
flowers. Plants these flowering plants keeping sufficient gap between their
planting, otherwise, all the flowers will bloom at a time. Different plants
require different soil composition for proper growth. Hence, it is important to
prepare the soil bed keeping in mind the plants you want to grow in your garden.
Moreover, it is beneficial to select the plants with same water and food
requirements.
When
you have decided the garden design, you are ready to prepare the soil bed for
your garden. Initially, inspect the garden area and remove all the unwanted
weeds from the spot. You can do this either by removing the weeds with your hand
or using the herbicides for killing the weeds.
For
preparing the soil bed, you have to dig the soil for about 1feet. Make the
mixture of organic compost and natural mulch and add it to the soil. Organic compost
will contain a large amount of nutrients necessary for the growth of plants. Adding
it to the soil will increase the soil quality. Natural mulch will avoid the
growth of weeds in your garden. Also, it will help to retain the soil moisture.
After
preparing the soil bed, now you are ready to sow the seeds in the soil. Sow the
seeds carefully about two inches below the ground level. Water the area gently.
Make a protective compound around the garden to protect it from goats and cows.
Remove
the dead branches and leaves from time to time. Pluck the flowers when they
bloom completely. Do not allow the flowers to remain on the tree for long time
after blooming completely. Follow all the flower gardening tips and take proper care
of your garden.
