Fertilisers, Composts and Manures

Applying Quality Back into the Soil

Improving soil quality can be done by a number of means, the most popular being the application and introduction of fertilisers, manure or quality compost which help to bring vital nutrients to sustain plant growth.

The most important nutrients to sustain that healthy plant growth are:

  • Nitrogen
  • Phosphorus
  • Potassium

Fertilisers and manures are excellent providers of these nutrients, when considering the application of nitrogen based fertilisers it is best to consider applying these in early spring rather than later in the year.

Manures are excellent for providing organic matter into the soil as well as being able to provide essential water content and retention.
